How to Subscribe


Here's a lot of information but believe me, it's not too hard to follow...(Describing it may be harder than doing it.)

TheGroupHome is -- at it's heart -- an email based bulletin board, i.e., you're connected to this enormous gang via one email address. So everything sent to that address goes to everyone on the list.

There is also a "web side" or component that offers a lot of added value. Features include: Viewing the posts (email messages) on the Web (good for when you're not at your "home" computer); Options for receiving the emails as a daily digest; ways to search the archives of past posts, an amazing set of Industry links, etc.

Anyway, for reasons far too boring to describe the "sign up" process is a little clunky. Sorry.

To subscribe:

Read the FAQ's and rules. If you don't like what you read, don't subscribe.
Now that you're ready to subscribe, print these instructions and follow them closely.
  1. Click on "Subscribers Only".
  2. In the new window, Click on the words "Join this Group".
  3. Next, under -New Member?- click on the words "Click here to register for FREE".
  4. Complete step one of the Registration process, Sign up for a Yahoo! Id. (Enter requested information) Where it asks for alternate email address, enter the email address at which you would like to receive TheGroupHome messages. NOTE: If you already have a Yahoo! Id, click on "Sign In" and skip to instruction #7.
  5. Click "Submit this Form".
  6. You will receive a registration confirmation. Click "Continue to Yahoo!".
  7. You will be taken to the membership options page. Choose the manner in which you would like to receive your messages (via individual emails, daily digests or via the web.)f
  8. Click "join".
  9. Reply to the email sent to you (this is how they make sure no one else can register as you.)
  10. Soon after, you will receive an email request for information from TheGroupHome. Reply to the request.
  11. NOTE: It takes anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 full business days (depending on a number of internet factors) before you are fully registered and will start receiving your email messages.
